OUR BELIEFS
Mountain Movers Academy believes in a learner-centered teaching approach. We believe that every student is unique with diverse ways of learning and their own set of skills and gifts that are brought to the classroom. It is our duty to develop their talents and offer a setting that will promote the most learning and achievement. Mountain Movers academy will meet each child’s individual needs while providing a pathway to success.

Each child is unique and learns differently. At Mountain Movers academy we believe that it is important to teach using a variety of teaching strategies. The students will learn from each other and learn to work together through cooperative learning. The students will be active learners exploring inquiry-based concepts and critical thinking skills. Encouraging the learner to use the skills and tools they are given results in a higher-order thinking approach. This is where and when the magic happens! Learning needs to be fun!

We believe that to learn the classroom must be a place where the student feels secure and safe. Each and every child needs to know that their teacher cares about them. Every student needs to be heard. It is our responsibility at Mountain Movers academy to provide that climate, by maintaining a low teacher-to-student ratio. This way, the student feels safe to grow and claim ownership in their learning. We believe that every child will have the confidence that they can succeed while feeling supported in a safe place. We believe that the standard set for the students is reachable, but high. Each child deserves to be challenged to reach their fullest potential.
Our Values

-
Respect
At school, we value each other's rights to security and respect. We will communicate with each other in a collected, respectful manner.
-
Integrity
We are both honest and driven by a clear moral compass. Students with integrity strive to always do the right thing.
-
Spirituality
We believe in cultivating both the cognitive and spiritual minds. Our mission is to raise a holistic child who will be ready to tackle the world after graduating.
-
Multiculturalism
We are a school that values the diversity of cultures in our community. All cultures are welcome in the classroom, and we actively attempt to understand the unique perspective of those who come from cultures other than our own.
-
Teamwork
All of us are one team. We work together because we know that we can achieve more as a team than as individuals.
-
Willingness to Fail
Success doesn’t occur without failure. Our teachers create an atmosphere where failure is acceptable so long as we do our best. We are willing to try and see failure as a chance to grow rather than a negative reflection of who we are.
-
Critical Thinking
We support and promote critically analyzing the issues facing the world. For students to be able to solve the problems of the twenty-first century, we teach them how to learn and be analytical thinkers.
